Lee serves as an estate planning attorney with NextStage Legal and Zenith Retirement, where he helps individuals and families create thoughtful estate plans, navigate estate administration, and protect what matters most for the next generation.
He has been in private legal practice since 1998, with experience spanning multiple areas of law including real estate, bankruptcy, criminal defense, family law, consumer litigation, and fiduciary litigation. After the passing of his parents, he felt a strong calling to focus his work on estate planning and estate administration, helping families navigate complex legal and financial decisions during some of life’s most important transitions.
Originally from New York, he came to Chapel Hill in 1986 to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an undergraduate. During that time, he fell in love with both the area and a talented research scientist who would later become his wife. The two settled in Chapel Hill to build their life and raise their son, who is now grown. Today, they live in Carrboro in a co-housing community.
Outside of his legal work, he enjoys balancing the mental demands of law with physical activities, especially basketball, taiji (tai chi), and dancing.
